ExaRAID HD is an innovative, highly efficient and cost-effective solution for the entire broadcast and post-production market. External PCI Express technology enables disk arrays to be used in conjunction with editing workstations with a high-bandwidth transfer performance of 20Gbps. The ExaRAID HD family of products includes 2RU 12-bay, 3RU 16-bay and 4RU 24-bay configurations. The 3RU and 4RU RAID systems are configured with single and dual independent controller configurations. ExaRAID can be used with any of the latest hard disk specifications.
Why PCIe?

PCIe high-tech specifications provides 250MB/s bandwidth in each channel, the ExaRAID HD has four and eight data transmission channels which is the reason why ExaRAID HD can reach a bandwidth of 10Gb/s and 20Gb/s. Compared with FireWire technology’s 250~300MB/s throughput rate, ExaRAID is much faster. The ExaRAID HD has a performance level which not only stands for maximizing the utilization of every HDD but also represents the quality, standard and efficiency required for a media workgroup.
Amazing read performance of 1400MB/s
The ExaRAID HD 3RU 16-Bay dual independent controller RAID system is capable of providing an amazing read performance of 1400MB/s. This is going primarily through a PCIe x8 interface that has a transfer bandwidth of 20 Gb/s. As a result of external PCI Express technology, the transfer of data between ExaRAID HD and workstations are similar to that of the workstation’s internal high-speed transmission processes. Compared with the higher-priced 8G, 4G FC and 3G SAS disk array systems, the ExaRAID HD solution has the advantage of twice the bandwidth. Coupled with the “zero protocol conversion loss” feature of PCIe, the ExaRAID HD is also capable of maintaining high speeds and reducing transmission delay during continuous read/write actions thereby maximizing the utilization rate of every single hard disk. The ExaRAID HD also provides an upgradable single-controller system which boasts a bandwidth of 10 Gb/s. The system transfer rate of the 3RU 16-Bay unit is able to reach 700MB/s and above, which is equivalent to the maximum performance of a dual 4G FC RAID system.
Designed with a Dual Controller
The ExaRAID HD system uses Intel Xscale technology and is a pure hardware RAID solution. Single or dual independent RAID controllers can be equipped with a maximum of 2 Gigabyte 64bit DDR II cache memory along with battery backup modules to prevent data loss during abnormal shutdown.
The best scalability framework design

The ExaRAID HD offers not only the best scalability framework but also meets the streamlined requirements of a variety of digital editing workflows.
ExaRAID provides 12, 16 and 24 bay models. Combined with Accusys’ unique ExaSAN Gen1 Switch, up to seven ExaRAID HDs can be connected to a workstation.
Seven ExaRAID HDDs with 2TB hard drives to reach a maximum of 336 TB to meet the requirements of any ingest, editing, playout and archive application.
When there are alternate configuration requirements, ExaSAN is the complete external PCI Express SAN solution that consists of all SAN components required for a SAN deployment. RAIDGuard X

RAIDGuardX offers an intuitive way to configure the RAID in only four simple steps. It boasts remote management functionality. Any event can be sent to users through simple operations such as email or pop-up windows. In addition, protection and monitoring functions are available so that users can easily configure, monitor and manage the RAID and other system status information.
In addition, the ExaRAID HD can be used to configure and monitor the status of the RAID through the LCD panel. The LED lights on the hot-pluggable hardware chassis will indicate the real-time status of the hard disks. All of these designs work together to optimize the safety of digital data.
Fully Integrated and Compatible
The ExaSAN can be fully integrated with Xsan and your Final Cut Pro system which can implement a shared volume plus share your editing SAN environment. The ExaSAN PCIe HBA is also compatible with other workstations such as Windows, Linux and Unix platforms. With SAN management software from MetaSAN and StorNext, a user may use workstations with different platforms to access the ExaRAID HD media content simultaneously. Keeping this in mind, ExaSAN provides the user with the most flexible workflow that meets the requirements of countless applications.
4K producing is always a dream for most editors, but the extremely high bandwidth and cost has always been a bottleneck. Now, two 24 bay or two 16 bay units with dual controller are capable of meeting the requirements of 4K productions. Each PCIe RAID controller in the ExaRAID HD can supply a 10 Gb/s bandwidth. A12S-PA - 12bay single controller

The A12S-PA uses the most advanced external PCIe 2.0 transmission technology in a 12 bay configuration. Using one RAID controller, it delivers an outstanding transmission performance of 40Gb/s along with a sensational price/performance ratio. The system is highly expandable and can support SAS or SATA hard disks. This is an excellent choice for starting off your shared storage system. The maximum capacity using RAID 5 is 33 TB.

A16D-PA - 16 bay dual controller

The A16D-PA 16 bay dual controller is a lightning fast storage system which can accommodate 16 SAS or SATA hard disk drives. This system also has the added advantage of a dual RAID controller which will provide outstanding performance of 4x dual 2,5Gb/s (total of 20 Gb/s) for even the most demanding situations. A24S-PA - 24 bay single controller
