Accusys provides a variety of PCIe disk array systems called ExaRAID, from 8bay tower (A08S-PS) to 24bay rackmount (A24S-PA). The speed for each system is 10Gb/s.The bandwidth of the ExaSAN Compact is directly proportional to the number of systems. The user can utilize the native OS to stripe multiple RAIDs as a single storage to get a 3 Gb/s bandwith storage pool or just use the default setting and report to the host as 3 individual 1 Gb/s bandwith volumes.
The ExaSAN Compact is designed as a complete solution suitable for 3 to 8 users in a workgroup to share the same storage volume and perform a collaborative workflow. The small footprint design of SW04/08-G2 system allows you to place it on your desktop. It’s easy to expand the bandwidth and capacity by adding additional Accusys PCIe storage systems.
The maximum 30Gb/s bandwidth and up to 216TB storage capacity allows users to work with multiple streams of uncompressed HD or 2K DPX video clips. The cost-effective, all-in-one package is easy to deploy with minimal IT expertise.

Prefect solution for a small workgroup
Whether your projects use SD, HD, or 2K material, the ExaSAN Compact Solution lets you centralise your projects within a central storage solution. It lets you share the same footage and access one project simultaneously. It supports 4 to 8 hosts work and works seamlessly with Apple, AVID, Adobe and Autodesk Creative Suite applications. It can easily handle applications which demand high bandwidth such as DaVinci Resolve, Smoke on Mac, and Assimilate Scratch. The ExaSAN Compact Solution will dramatically increase productivity within your workflow.
Easy to deploy
In the past SAN solutions were extremely complicated. They required a high level of technical knowledge for installation, setting up, and maintenance. The ExaSAN Compact solution makes a SAN easier than ever to set up and to use. Users can and will experience a revelation with the ExaSAN Compact solution.
- 1. All you need is one package from one vendor which means a shorter set up time compared to a fibre channel SAN.
- 2. The initial cost of an ExaSAN Compact solution is very affordable compared to fibre channel. The cost of growing bandwidth and capacity as your needs grow is also less expensive than fibre channel.
- 3. Minimal IT skills are required to deploy the ExaSAN Compact solution.
- 4. A DAS (direct attachted storage) system can be easily upgraded to a SAN with the SW04/08 Compact switch. The Accusys PCIe based Storage system can be used as a DAS or a SAN
- 5. The ExaSAN Compact Solution provides the highest performance and yet is the most cost efficient SAN solution.
A single shared box, the road to a SAN
Most people know that a high bandwidth SAN solution is the best option for a collaborative workflow. However it is also known as a complex and expensive investment The ExaSAN Compact solution is designed to be not only the most affordable, but also the most user friendly SAN solution. For the user who needs to move forward from a DAS to a SAN, the ExaSAN Compact Solution is definitely the best choice.
LUN Masking Function
The LUN Masking function can be selected and operated on SW04/08-G2 system via the RAIDGuard X graphic user interface. A user can divide a single volume into multiple LUN (logical unit number) volumes and assign specific LUNs to specific hosts. This makes a LUN available to some hosts and unavailable to others. This is suitable for hosts that have an independent task and a non-shared storage application environment.
SAN Management Software
The ExaSAN Compact solution supports the majority of file level locking or volume level locking functions common in SAN management software such as Xsan 2, MetaSAN, StorNext, FibreJet and SANmp. The powerful SAN management software can consolidate data into a single storage volume, shared with multiple clients and manage access authority efficiently.
