This course is aimed towards Resolve colorists who may or may not have previous experience as a colorist. It teaches the student methods for making the most of the Resolve color grading system. It also teaches the basics of color grading along with developing and using techniques to make your special look for different situations.
Course insturctor is Stuart Blake Jones.
The course last two days (extention possible) and will be tought on a Mac System with either a Tangent Device Panel or DaVinci Panel.
All students receive an ICA certification upon completion, with a Blackmagic Design endorsment.
APPLE COLOR v DAVINCI RESOLVE
Explains the differences between both software applications. We look at the hardware being used along with an overview of each topic to be covered during the course.
BASIC COLOR THEORY
Looking at the waveform, vectorscope, and histogram displays. How different Colors interact with increased saturation and contrast. Why some colors complement each other more than others. We also cover RGB vs YUV correction
SETTING UP YOUR SYSTEM AND YOUR ROOM
List management, storage and viewing options. What is the best grading environment?
PRIMARY CORRECTION
Lift, Gamma and Gain, or Black, Shadows and Highlights, what’s the difference.
We also cover why and how to use each control.
